Missouri pastor is on leave after he gave a sermon that many people say was sexist, misogynistic and inappropriate.

Pastor Stewart-Allen Clark took a leave of absence Tuesday from First General Baptist Church in Malden, Missouri – located in the state’s southeast boot heel – after receiving widespread criticism for his sermon given in late February.

In his sermon, he explained that women need to lose weight and submit to the sexual desires of their husbands to keep the men from straying.


Clark also said wives need to wear makeup, dress nicely, have nice hair and appear less “butch.”

The original video was deleted from the church’s website, but a woman who was watching the sermon that day managed to post the video to Facebook, where it has caused widespread anger and gained thousands of comments.

Clark continued to ask why women “let themselves go after marriage” and reiterated that men only marry for good looks and sex.

man steals full size playground slide for his child's bedroom

A man is facing charges after he allegedly stole a 400-pound slide from a playground and mounted it on a bunkbed in his home.

Dustin Allen Bushnell, 30, of Burbank, Washington, was arrested Tuesday on a charge of possession of stolen property, according to the Pasco Police Department.

Detective Julie Lee was investigating a series of catalytic converter thefts when evidence led her to Bushnell’s home, police said.

Lee suddenly came face-to-face with the gigantic slide, which was reported stolen in December 2020, as she searched the home for catalytic converters.

Bushnell sawed off the slide, repainted it, and mounted it on a bunkbed in a child’s bedroom at his mobile home, according to investigators.

Catalytic converters were also found at the home but Bushnell has not yet been charged with stealing the car parts.

An investigation remains ongoing.

Protective items such as gloves and face masks are found on almost a third of all British beaches following a spike in use due to the coronavirus pandemic.

The Marine Conservation Society's annual beach clean-up in September discovered the shocking increase in PPE litter.

This year, volunteers were asked to adopt a 100-metre stretch of beach themselves, and organise their own, smaller beach-cleans with family friends and 'bubbles', in line with Government guidance.

For the first time volunteers were asked to record the number of face masks and plastic gloves they found.

Those items were found on almost 30 per cent of beaches cleaned by Marine Conservation Society volunteers during the week-long event.

Georgetown Professor Accused of 'Blatant' Racism on Zoom

Georgetown University law students are demanding a professor be fired over a Zoom call in which she disparaged the academic performance of Black students. "We learned earlier this week that two members of our faculty engaged in a conversation that included reprehensible statements concerning the evaluation of Black students," Georgetown Law Dean Bill Treanor wrote in a Wednesday letter, noting an investigation has been opened, per NBC News. He didn't identify the professors, but the Black Law Student Association named them as Sandra Sellers and David Batson, per the Daily Beast. Both are white.

In a clip of a Zoom conversation, uploaded to a student learning platform, Sellers spoke to Batson about grades. "I hate to say this. I end up having this, you know, angst every semester that a lot of my lower ones are Blacks," she said.

"It happens almost every semester. And it’s like, 'Oh, come on,'" continued the adjunct professor, per WTOP. " get some really good ones but they're also usually some that are just plain at the bottom," she added. "It drives me crazy." Batson, who had nodded while Sellers was speaking, responded, "What drives me crazy is, you know, the concept of how that plays out, and whether that is, you know, my own perceptions playing in here."


Treanor said the video was "abhorrent" and "we are responding with the utmost seriousness." But the BLSA says no investigation is necessary given the "blatant and shameless racism." It's calling for Sellers' "immediate termination" in its own letter. Her "bias has impacted the grades of Black students in her classes historically, in her own words," it reads.

For bird-watching enthusiasts and amateur naturalists across the Bay Area, backyard feeders have provided a sense of solace and a much-needed connection with the outdoors, especially amid the isolation of the pandemic.

But the California Department of Fish and Wildlife is urging residents to take them down as soon as possible – the lives of finches and other avian species depend on it.

Since mid-November, scores of songbirds have died as a result of salmonellosis, a gut disease that is quickly transmitted when they gather at bird feeders or birdbaths. The CDFW said bird rescue centers in the San Francisco Bay Area, Central Coast and Sierra Nevada have been “inundated with calls” from residents who have discovered increasing numbers of sick or dead birds at their feeders; in particular, the pine siskin, a migratory finch with a frantic, chattering call and mottled brown and yellow plumage.

Birds become infected when they consume food or water shared with other avian species who already have the disease, or if they come into contact with objects like bird feeders, perches or soil contaminated with the feces of an infected bird. As more birds gather in a single area, their risk of contracting the disease skyrockets.

Pasadena officials on Tuesday canceled a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for senior citizens, grocery store employees and other essential workers after hundreds of people who were not eligible for the shots signed up for appointments.

People who did not yet qualify for the vaccine under state guidelines claimed about 900 of the 1,500 slots at a clinic that was designed for people older than 65 and essential workers who live or work in Pasadena, city spokeswoman Lisa Derderian said.

Many of the appointments were booked by people who worked in the media and in Hollywood, Derderian said, including at production companies, streaming TV services and news outlets and on the sets of soap operas.

“Hundreds signed up within the first hour,” Derderian said. “It was like rapid fire.”

- Video of a group of teens attacking a man in Newport Beach is now part of an active investigation by police.

The video shows multiple teens attacking an older man in a crosswalk. It's unclear what led to the attack, and it doesn't last long. But the victim was seen hitting the pavement hard.


That's when a bystander comes to his defense, and the attackers take off.

The incident happened in the area of East Balboa Boulevard and Main Street a little after 10 p.m
