TRUMP suggests he might want his presidential library built on one of his properties.
* That could result in his presidential library foundation (& possibly taxpayers) paying his company for rent, maintenance, etc., for years after he leaves office.
a modern Church has taken over a small California city
How Redding, California, became an unlikely epicenter of modern Christian culture
By Vanessa Rancano, KQED | June 18, 2019 | CALIFORNIA DREAM
---------------------
In the two decades since the School of Supernatural Ministrys founding, more than 10,000 people from around the world have made the same pilgrimage, turning Redding into an unlikely global epicenter of Christian culture.
Today, walking around this former logging town of 90,000 residents, you can meet people from a dozen countries in a day. This year, the school graduated 2,500 students, representing more than 70 countries; the youngest was 18, the oldest 85.
It was founded by a fifth-generation pastor, Bill Johnson, who heads up local Bethel Church, and started with a few dozen local students. Today the school enrolls more international vocational students than any other school in the country, by far, according to Immigration and Customs Enforcement data. In 2017, Bethel had 1,792 international students enrolled. The institution with the next highest enrollment was Dean International, a flight-training school in Florida, with 888 international vocational students.
-------------
But some Redding residents dont want to be part of the experiment.
Redding is their test case of turning a city that is a democracy into a theocracy, says Laura Hammans, a member of Investigating Bethel, a Facebook group with more than 1,000 members.
Hammans is one of a dozen members of the group meeting at a Redding park one afternoon. Another member, Donna Zibull, is passing out stickers that say, Dont drink the Kool-Aid.
Weve handed them out freely because we want to get the message out there, Zibull says. Some people are afraid to put them on their car.
Afraid, she says, because the churchs influence feels like it runs through the core of the city. Reddings mayor, Julie Winter, is a Bethel elder; Bethel paid the salaries of several police officers when the city couldnt afford to; a Bethel-connected nonprofit took over management of the citys civic auditorium and now holds Supernatural School classes there; Bethels influence was central to getting a direct flight from LAX to Redding approved last year; and theres a $150 million Bethel expansion underway that will triple the churchs capacity and allow the school to grow by 1,000 students.

Co-Dependency, Enabling, Fear, and Cowardice in the Age of Trump
By David M. Reiss, M.D. and Seth Davin Norrholm, Ph.D.
Donald J. Trump is an abuser. Donald J. Trump is an abusive man. This is not a legal finding. This is not a clinical diagnosis. This is an objectively-documented, indisputable, direct observation of Trumps behaviors. Donald Trump is at the epicenter of a vast network of harm being done across multiple fronts within our society.
Consider this Brief Checklist of Abusive Behaviors:
1. Trump does not appear capable of discussing a disagreement with any person or entity without resorting to stupid, juvenile, and at times, overtly cruel name-calling. That is an act of abuse.
2. Trump does not appear capable of tolerating a criticism without rather viciously demeaning his critic. Trump rarely responds to a criticism by discussing issues or describing facts Trump responds with lies and attacks based upon irrelevant real or more often, invented sadistic put-downs of the critics appearance, intelligence, ability, motivation and/or honesty. Those are acts of abuse.
3. Trump demands loyalty from others by frequently insisting that they publicly adulate him by having them make false, inaccurate and overtly grandiose statements about Trumps supposed exceptional abilities and accomplishments. Those are abusive behaviors.
4. Trumps expectations that others will shower him with obviously false and ridiculously grandiose compliments humiliates and destroys the dignity of even those who want to support him. (See Graham, Lindsey; Gaetz, Matt; Jordan, Jim; Pence, Mike) Those are acts of abuse.
It is obvious that consistently, Trump is an extremely abusive man, even if one gives no credence to the rumors that he has personally been physically violent to family members and without even needing to consider the horribly cruel and sadistic consequences of many of the political decisions and policies he has implemented.

A president lacking credibility, judgment, and experience, driven by pettiness and a fragile ego... an administration teeming with ideologues... alliances frayed and enemies emboldened... on the precipice of additional military conflict. It is a potent and chilling situation.

record breaking marathoner is accused of course cutting
https://www.latimes.com/sports/la-sp-marathon-cheating-allegations-frank-meza-20190621-story.htmlFrank Meza, 70, of Pasadena, California ran a 2:53:10 at the L.A. Marathon in March, a time that is faster than Ed Whitlocks M70 world record by over a minute. His record wasnt ratified, as the L.A. Marathon is a point-to-point race and therefore not record-eligible. But moreover, Meza is facing scrutiny for course-cutting on multiple occasions, including his record-breaking run.
Derek Murphy of Marathon Investigation has followed Mezas results and reported that he suspects Meza cut the L.A. Marathon course.
Murphy writes, Frank was shown entering The LA Marathon course from a sidewalk prior to the 20 kilometer timing mat. Despite Franks claim that he only exited the course once for a few seconds to pee, the evidence showed that Frank did not appear on the course prior to the location that he emerged, implying that he exited the course and took a shortcut.
Murphy further argues that, It is not a coincidence that his times were less than a minute better than Gene Dykes unofficial record set at The Toronto Marathon. I dont believe this is the case of someone cutting a course and mis-calculating and setting a record time. Meza was disqualified from both the 2014 and 2016 California International Marathons and subsequently banned from the race.
Theres also evidence that Meza cut the course at the 2019 Spouts Phoenix Marathon, hitting each mat in a believable time but disappearing from photographs in between mats. Murphy writes, When I report on more of Franks results the pattern will become even more clear. Whenever Franks pace can be verified through course photos or video, his pace is significantly slower than his official splits.

breaking. Trump threatened a journalist with prison.
Here's the background: Trump showed the four reporters a letter that he said was "written by Kim Jong Un. It was delivered to me yesterday. By hand." Then he asked to go off-the-record, so that he could make comments that would not be reported or included in the transcript.
A Time journalist who was in the room evidently tried to take a photo of the letter's contents and when the interview was back on the record, press secretary Sarah Sanders said, "You can't take a picture of that, sorry."
Quoting from the transcript:
TRUMP: "Excuse me Under Section II Well, you can go to prison instead, because, if you use, if you use the photograph you took of the letter that I gave you "
TIME: "Do you believe that people should be "
TRUMP: "confidentially, I didn't give it to you to take photographs of it So don't play that game with me. Let me just tell you something. You take a look "
TIME: "I'm sorry, Mr. President. Were you threatening me with prison time?"
Trump's response
"Well," he said, "I told you the following. I told you you can look at this off-the-record. That doesn't mean you take out your camera and start taking pictures of it. O.K.? So I hope you don't have a picture of it. I know you were very quick to pull it out even you were surprised to see that. You can't do that stuff. So go have fun with your story. Because I'm sure it will be the 28th horrible story I have in TIME Magazine because I never I mean ha. It's incredible. With all I've done and the success I've had, the way that TIME Magazine writes is absolutely incredible."
Then the president continued raging against the magazine's coverage. "Some day within the next 20 years," he said, "maybe you'll pick me as Man of the Year. O.K., big deal." The "Person of the Year" title was last bestowed on Trump in 2016.

This UK official was quick to get violent with a woman (Video) - he's been suspended
LONDON A British official was suspended from the Foreign Office after he grabbed a Greenpeace U.K. protester by the neck and forcibly ejected her from a black-tie dinner in Londons financial district, the prime ministers office said on Friday.
Video of the encounter on Thursday night showed the official, Mark Field, a Conservative member of Parliament, jumping from his seat, grabbing the protester and shoving her against a post. She and fellow climate activists, all dressed in red gowns with sashes declaring a Climate Emergency, had flooded the room where the chancellor of the Exchequer, Philip Hammond, was delivering his annual address on the state of the economy.
The footage drew outrage, and Greenpeace U.K. accused Mr. Field of assault, with one of the activists taking part, Hannah Martin, telling BBC Radio on Friday What he did, as anybody can see from the video, was completely disproportionate and unacceptable, particularly for a sitting member of Parliament.
She later posted on Twitter: Theres nothing like a female led peaceful protest to bring out the true character of an entitled man.

Woman trapped in St. Louis jail stairwell for 2.5 days
A woman who had been arrested in Missouri was subsequently released from the St. Louis Justice Centerbut she didn't get out for two more days. The Post-Dispatch explains the unnamed woman had been told to ride the elevator to the first floor, turn right, and exit the building. Instead, she apparently rode it to the fifth floor at 8:17 a.m. on June 5 and then opened a fire exit door. It locked behind her, leaving her no way to get out of the jail: All floor-entry doors, as well as the ground-floor-exit door, were locked. Worse still, the fire exit door's alarm had been disabled because of maintenance in the building, so no one knew she was in there.
She made noise as she moved between the floors. Staff tried to locate the source of the noise but couldn't, and they never checked the fire stairs. It wasn't until someone saw her looking through the window of a door that she was foundat 6:32pm on June 7. She refused medical attention, saying she just wanted to go home. St. Louis Corrections Commissioner Dale Glass says procedures have been updated: People will now have an escort as they leave the public side of the jail.

She got on an elevator on the second floor at 8:17 a.m. on June 5. She was discovered at 6:32 p.m. on June 7, he said.
Although she appeared to be OK, the woman was immediately seen by a nurse, he said. Staff called paramedics and gave her food and water, Glass said. He said the woman was asked if she wanted to go to the hospital. She said, No, I just want to go home, Glass said.
Were really sorry that this occurred, and we put precautions in place to make sure it doesnt happen again, Glass said. We never had this happen before.
