Eric Trump whined about “the weaponization of politics” and promptly got taken to task on Twitter.

Critics mocked former President Donald Trump’s son, suggesting he was trying to play the victim with his post.

C more harassment… the weaponization of politics and evilness of the far left is hard to comprehend…

— Eric Trump (@EricTrump) July 30, 2021

The tweet came after the Justice Department ruled the Treasury Department must turn over copies of his father’s tax returns to a congressional committee.

On the same day, a report said Trump in December urged senior Justice Department officials to “just say the election was corrupt and leave the rest to me.”

“Pot, meet kettle,” one person replied to the Trump scion

Gums, you’re not a victim. Your daddy is not a victim. Junior, Ivanka, Jared, and Melania are not victims.

Facing consequences for bad or illegal behavior does not make one of victim of harassment. https://t.co/mYAK64MNrl

Canadian first responders apologize for tossing human body in trash mistaking it for a mannequin

Canadian first responders apologize for tossing human body in trash after mistaking it for a mannequin

The Canadian first responders who mistakenly tossed a human body in a dumpster, have offered a heartfelt apology, explaining they mistook the badly burned remains for a mannequin.

Firefighters were responding to a “suspicious” brush fire in Sherbrooke, a town in Quebec just North of Vermont, on July 23 around 10 a.m. when they made the befuddling discovery, CBC News reported.

“When they arrived, witnesses declared that someone had lit a silicone mannequin on fire,” Sherbrooke Police Chief Danny McConnell said during a press conference on Thursday, held to address to the blunder.

“After discussions between the two departments, it was agreed that the mannequin would be disposed of in the container at the Sherbrooke police service, which cannot be accessed by members of the public.”

Just four hours after authorities tossed the woman’s body, her partner filed a missing person report.

Police said they were able to track her cellphone signal to a vehicle parked not far from where the fire was set. McConnell added that one officer noted the coincidence in location, prompting authorities to retrieve the body from the dumpster.

Mr Pillow pulls ads from fox news

Who will lose more sleep over this separation?

Pillow salesman and conspiracy theorist Mike Lindell says he’s pulling his ads from Fox News, where he’s been both a big spender and a frequent guest. At the center of Lindell’s beef with the right-wing cable channel, he tells the Wall Street Journal, is Fox’s alleged unwillingness to run an ad for an August streaming event where Lindell is expected to continue pushing baseless claims of fraud in the 2020 presidential election.

“Shame on you, Fox News!” the pitchman, known as the My Pillow Guy, wrote on Facebook.

While misinformation is nothing new to Fox News, the conservative media outlet — along with Lindell — was hit with a massive lawsuit by Dominion Voting Systems in March. The election systems company claims its good name has been damaged by claims its equipment was responsible in part for Trump’s loss in November. Dominion is asking $1.6 billion from Fox and $1.3 billion from Lindell. Both parties, who have enjoyed cozy relationships with the 45th president, intend to fight the suit.

found and charged (in court)!! the woman who was charged by grizzly bear in may

The woman charged by a grizzly bear in an encounter caught on video at Yellowstone National Park has been charged again, this time in US District Court. Investigators used the video, which went viral on social media, to identify suspect Samantha Dehring; they asked for tips and someone sent one in, the Billings Gazette reports. Dehring unfollowed the park's Facebook page the same day it posted a photo of her on the page, and after getting a search warrant to view her Facebook page, the park found she had posted photos of the bears there.

Witnesses say that when they spotted the sow and her two cubs on May 15, they warned Dehring to move back but she did not. She was about 15 feet away from the bears; park regulations require visitors to be at least 300 feet away. The Illinois woman is charged with breaking federal law by feeding, touching, teasing, frightening, or intentionally disturbing wildlife, WGN reports, as well as violating closures and use limits, and is set to appear in court next month.

UPDATE; mother of that 12 year who gave birth arrested. Family knew, had thrown baby shower

https://www.newser.com/story/309192/mother-arrested-after-girl-12-gives-birth.html

Tulsa woman Desiree Castaneda was arrested Thursday, two weeks after she became a grandmother at the age of 33. Police say she was charged with child neglect and enabling child sex abuse after her 12-year-old daughter gave birth, People reports. Juan Miranda-Jara, a 24-year-old who admitted being the father, was arrested while the girl was in labor on July 14. "They walked in [to the hospital] just like any other couple would excited to deliver their newborn child," Tulsa Police Officer Danny Bean told FOX23. When police arrived at the hospital, they say Miranda-Jara acted unsure as to why they were there.

He told investigators he had been in a "relationship" with the girl since October. He was charged with first-degree rape of a minor. Police say their investigation revealed that the girl's family members knew Miranda-Jara had been having sex with her and even threw a baby shower for them, KTUL reports. Oklahoma's age of consent is 16. The girl's father is in prison serving a 12-year sentence in an unrelated rape case.

woman touches monk seal. gets $500 fine and outrage

A woman from Louisiana who was honeymooning in Hawaii has been fined $500 after a social media video showed her touching an endangered Hawaiian monk seal, US authorities said, per the AP. The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration launched an investigation last month and found the woman violated the Endangered Species Act, says agency spokesperson Dominic Andrews.

A video posted on TikTok and other social media showed a woman touching the seal at a Kauai beach in June, following her wedding in Maui. The video showed her running away after the seal snapped at her, the Honolulu Star-Advertiser reported Thursday, noting the couple later received death threats.

The couple previously apologized and told the Star-Advertiser that they love Hawaii and didn't mean to offend anyone. There are an estimated 1,100 Hawaiian monk seals in the Northwestern Hawaiian Islands and 300 in the main Hawaiian Islands. Under state and federal laws, it's a felony to touch or harass a Hawaiian monk seal. Penalties can include up to five years in prison and a $50,000 fine. Authorities warn people must remain at least 50 feet away from the animals or 150 feet away from pups with their mothers. NOAA also fined another traveler $500 for touching a resting Hawaiian monk seal. It's unclear when that encounter occurred, but an Instagram account shows the visitor visited Oahu in May, the Star-Advertiser reported.

Ex-NRA head Wayne LaPierre and wife secretly turned an elephant they shot in Botswana into decor

Ex-NRA head Wayne LaPierre and his wife secretly turned an elephant they shot in Botswana into home decor: report

Wayne LaPierre and his wife secretly shipped elephant parts from their Botswana hunt to avoid public outcry.
Records obtained by The New Yorker showed Susan LaPierre requesting the shipment have no clear links to the couple.
Taxidermy records showed the parts were turned into home decor, like stools, an umbrella stand, and a trash can.

-----------

An export company in Botswana emailed the couple to confirm the shipment of animal parts, which included one cape-buffalo skull, two sheets of elephant skin, two elephant ears, four elephant tusks, and four front elephant feet, according to The New Yorker report published Thursday.

Susan LaPierre later requested that the shipment should have no clear links to the couple, asking to use the name of an American taxidermist as "the consignee" and that the company "not use our names anywhere if at all possible," The New Yorker reported.

In one message sent by the taxidermist, who was not named in the report, to the shipping company, he explained that the LaPierre's "can not afford bad publicity and a out cry,"

which is "why they are trying not to have there names show up on these shipments so the information does not fall into the wrong hands," according to records obtained by the news outlet.

Susan LaPierre also noted that the couple expected to receive "an assortment of skulls and skins from warthogs, impalas, a zebra, and a hyena" in the shipment, according to the report.

job posting for stressful job goes viral

A Napa natural wine company called Dry Farm Wines is inviting prospective candidates to come join their "Family" for pretty standard career opportunities like "warehouse buyer" and "senior accountant." Pretty straightforward.

But the job posting for the compliance manager — posted last Wednesday — has gone viral on Twitter, and not because thousands of people are interested in applying.

"This is the most stressful job posting I've ever seen in my life," begins a thread by @clapifyoulikeme on Twitter Wednesday. And ... she's not wrong.
