Anybody else hear jets circling Orange County this afternoon?

In California? I half expected to see a new headline for another UFO spotted over Los Angeles after this.

CA no longer pursuing COVID vaccine mandate for K-12 schools, public health department says

Source: ABC7 Eyewitness News

SACRAMENTO, Calif. -- California won't make children get the coronavirus vaccine to attend schools.

The California Department of Public Health said Friday it is not exploring emergency rules to add the COVID-19 vaccine to the list of required school vaccinations.

That's a reversal from Democratic Gov. Gavin Newsom's 2021 announcement that the state would add the COVID-19 vaccine to its list of mandated vaccinations for kids to attend school. Last year, state officials delayed that requirement until at least the summer of 2023.

Now public health officials say they are no longer moving ahead with the effort as the state prepares to end its coronavirus emergency on Feb. 28.

Has the world gone topsy-turvy? What the hell is this. This is NOT what I voted for when I voted for Governor Newsom to be back in. Forced vaccinations for ALL should be MANDATORY.

Guess I'm not leaving the house for a long, long, long long time.

Luna said the suspect fled the scene and remains outstanding.

"We're serious about catching this suspect and bringing him to justice," Monterey Park Police Chief Scott Wiese said.

ABC 7 is broadcasting the standoff on the above link. Suspect has possibly been nailed between two SWAT vehicles.

Sorry, folks. It's Sunday and I can't do it anymore either.

The news is nothing but ridiculous hyperbole now.

I'll start paying attention to the news again when Trump is indicted, arrested, and jailed. And Merrick Garland does something.

Until then, screw it. I can't deal with politics anymore.

I'm gonna focus more on my hobbies and stuff that actually interests me.

96% of flights with COVID. Decoupling of hospitalizations & wastewater versus cases

Source: Dr. Eric Ding (former 16yr Harvard Epidemiologist)

We need to talk about how COVID hospitalization is surging in Massachusetts- doubling in a month - but cases are flat. But is COVID truly flat? No, not at all if you look at the wastewater levels of SARSCov2 RNA in Boston. Thus we have now lost the reliability of simple case counts. But unlike the good uncoupling of low hospitalization vs rising cases, we now have the opposite bad uncoupling of rising hospitalization vs flat cases. Wastewater seems to be only only good early warning indicator now.

Speaking of water water surveillance — 96% of flights in a study of airplane toilet water in SE Asia region last year found SARS2 virus. We have to use this as a warning indicator that likely most flights have someone with COVID in this pandemic era. If you don’t still mask on flight— you are playing with fire— playing Russian roulette with your health and Long COVID.

Hospitalization ⬆️ 2x surging…

—but cases flat??

What’s going on is testing has crashed and #COVID19 case numbers are unreliable.
📌 Cases and hospitalizations are uncoupling—but in the WRONG WAY… opposite of last year.

📌 Wastewater doesn’t lie. See wastewater data from Massachusetts below.

📌 More wastewater data: SarsCoV-2 was detected in wastewater from 95.7% of flights

📌 Driven by the highly evasive and infectious #XBB15 variant.

Don’t ignore the #Kraken. #MaskUp

This is not opinion or analysis. This is medical fact, from renowned epidemiologist Dr. Eric Ding.

Thoroughly enjoying 5 days off from work I've been looking forward to for days...

Really just vegging now. Working on...nothing.

Unfortunately, my Windows 10 computer is going out and wouldn't boot up for the first time this morning. Thankfully it fixed itself with a reboot. Rather than waiting for the final eventual crash and burn, I just ordered a new (for me) refurb iMac Pro 27 inch in space gray. Looking forward to that as well. I am not happy with the way Windows 11 is going and I hate the inability to bring back the expanding task bar. So I'm going elsewhere and I will just load it up using bootcamp on my new iMac Pro. But it's no longer going to be my dominant OS. Not happy with the new colors on the iMac 24 inchers either. I want my extra 3 inches and favorite color: darker silver or space gray. The new ones look too childish for me and are just not my thing. Hopefully Apple will come out with a 32 inch iMac pro in space gray soon.

Anyway.

So Merry early Christmas to me!

I did my civic duty yesterday afternoon...

And slipped my absentee ballot in the drop box.

I am a single issue voter: Abortion, abortion, abortion. We need to codify Roe v. Wade. And stop the evil republicans at every chance we can get.

So, I voted dem straight down the ballot.

I also voted:

Yes on prop 1 (codifying Roe v. Wade) - notice how they don't use that verbiage in the ballot and use more party-neutral verbiage? Wonder why...we should upset those republicans at every chance for destroying our lives...

Yes on prop 26 (sports betting at tribal casinos) - on tribal lands is fine. That means it takes effort to get there.

No on prop 27 (allow online sports betting) - we don't need more gambling addiction enablers and this would be very dangerous.

Yes on prop 28 (arts and music education funding)

Yes on prop 29 (impose new rules on dialysis programs)

Yes on prop 30 (tax millionaires for electric vehicle programs)

Yes on prop 31 (uphold flavored tobacco ban)

ALARM: RSV Is Getting Bad. I Don't Know Why The Media isn't Talking. RSV Hits Adults Too.

I don't understand why our CDC and media are so bad at this.

All the media says on every report I am reading is that it's very dangerous to children. But nothing else. But everyone needs to assume they are going to get it. And there is NO vaccine yet.

A relative of mine is still in the emergency room and has been since Sunday. They were (and are) doing so badly that they aren't sure what the outcome is going to be yet.

The emergency room tested for the flu. That wasn't it. They also tested for Covid-19. That wasn't it.

Then they tested for RSV just for the hell of it. Bingo. This is in a fully grown adult here. Not a child.

Read that...just for the hell of it. There isn't even a real testing program in place to catch this. And the media isn't even warning adults about getting RSV. I wouldn't be surprised if RSV is now airborne already. I hope that it is not.

Now, my relative has to use an inhaler to breathe and they aren't sure when this is going away.

You want to know how they got it? By going to the pharmacy and getting their flu shot. Without. A. Mask.

I have never stopped wearing a mask, getting vaccinated, or using gloves since the start of the covid-19 pandemic. And I am not about to stop doing that now.

I highly recommend for anyone who cares about not getting any of these diseases to do the same.
