Putin must be nuts to threaten Sweden and Finland

I was just looking at some of the available commercial aircraft tracking data over the Baltics and noticed a Russian Airlines aircraft (VQ-BSH) threading the needle to get from St. Petersburg to Kaliningrad by flying through Finnish airspace, close to Helsinki, to avoid the exclusion zone imposed by Estonia, then from there to Swedish airspace (over Gotland Island) to get around Latvia, with a swing way out over the Baltic so they could fly straight into Kaliningrad without violating Polish or Lithuanian airspace.

Given that one twitch by either Sweden or Finland to close their airspace or coastal waters to Soviet (excuse me, Russian) traffic will result in the complete isolation of one of his provinces, he must be playing from the "Stable Genius" deck that TFG has long boasted of.

What's in a word. Of course, the last word of that intro sentence is Covid. But, what if every time we should use Covid, we substitute the phrase "Foreign Terrorists" instead.

Would it get the attention of the RW true believers if we reported that yesterday 109,980 Americans were attacked by terrorists and 1,982 were killed. And this goes on every day of the week. Would you suppose they would get all gung-ho and drive around in flag draped pickup trucks brandishing their personally customized AR-15s, just looking to fulfill their John Wayne fantasy of defending 'Murica?

Perhaps, if we could get them to understand that they, themselves are the terrorists due to their anti-vax, anti-mask and anti-science campaigns, we could get them to change their behaviors and rejoin the country they claim to care about.
