I see no real evidence pointing towards it, and as the various states and territories are not in real conflict, and as the political conflicts we currently experience are not predicated on region (one of five necessary prologues for Balkanization to occur) but rather on ideology, I simply do not see a fracturing of the US as a political entity as a practical possibility now or in the near future.
