In reply to the discussion: Major Dem donor hints she'll withhold funds after 'vigilante' Democrats forced Al Franken to resign [View all]radhika

Railroaded Franken for her ego, with no value rendered to the issues of harassment. I believe she made a grab for alpha-spot, and thought this would catapult her to a front runner. Ain't gonna work.
If she had exploited the #MEETOO moment to challenge the entire Senate to come up with common, across-the-board gradated standard that would apply them to any legislator, that's one thing. If the Pugs refused to work with her on that, use that against them and simply give Franken a slap on the hand pending a fair policy.
But her way, nothing was gained, and someone valuable was lost just when the nation needs fearless Progressive voices. Thinking back to his challenge to Session, for example.

OP
No, Franken was a huge loss - it was the railroad job that helped the Repubs.

Good. Yes, Gillibrand spearheaded it. Because Franken was in the way of her Presidential plans.
