impeded and fought against because of the racist elements involved, followed by the added stupidity of bigoted ideology.

from one of the links you posted:

" Harry Truman tried to create a national health insurance system. Public opinion was initially on his side: Jill Quadagno's book "One Nation, Uninsured" tells us that in 1945, 75 percent of Americans favored national health insurance. If Truman had succeeded, universal coverage for everyone, not just the elderly, would today be an accepted part of the social contract.

But Truman failed. Special interests, especially the American Medical Association and Southern politicians who feared that national insurance would lead to racially integrated hospitals, triumphed. "

That's how stupid people have been and some remain as stupid!!!! Many should look back in the history and take note to how the care received from black people to white people even during slavery, and they have the audacity to think and continue to think in segregationist terms. That kind of ignorance has to die out and what remains become stomped out..... because, education seem not to have worked on some, and for other the choice was and is to avoid being and becoming educated.
Its really sick and pathetic that people have chosen to perpetuate this racist ignorance over so many centuries and decades, and the mass of those who back it, are as broke and decrepit as were their ancestry, and still they are blind and unaware to see how their aims of madness in turn equally so continually show they defeat themselves with such ignorance in the overall process. "The best term for that is "Stupidity", which proceeds to produce "Imbeciles".
