An article (I just published on Medium) that's based on translated text messages from the Senate Judiciary document release strongly suggests that Russians were in regular contact with the Trump team at this point, and moreover had an expectation of contact.

The article also suggests that there was a planned meeting between Trump and Aras Agalarov around this time, and includes a few other strong hints of a quid pro quo.
