NY did not stop Amazon or pull the tax breaks. Bezos pulled the plug when local pols like AOC started questioning the deal. The Mayor and other officials invited Amazon to discuss how they could do more, like more infrastructure or guaranteed local hires, Amazon just walked away.
Those 15,000 or 25,000 or whatever bullshit number they promised was over 20 years.
Also, Long Island City is doing just fine without Amazon.
