I would advise him to stay the course and hope for the best. If he resigns he will be indicted from this and other crimes in Federal and state courts. Impeachment without conviction in the senate is the best possible outcome for him that along with somehow winning in 2020 and dying in office. We tend to not convict people postmortem.
