"I wonder if this pandemic will be a turning point in our society, what do you think?"

If this crisis is to teach us anything, it should teach us how much we rely on each other -- across the globe -- and how much we need take meaningful steps to lift up those who are most vulnerable and at risk.

And for the United States, I hope this crisis helps to give Americans an acute understanding of how interrelated we all are, and an understating that we have the power to shape our own government. We can, and must shape it in a way that puts an end to the most extreme level of income inequality we have seen since medieval systems of feudal lords and serfs.
