4. Hanging in there, anyway

Our elder daughter in NYC lost her job, as her company went under, but her husband makes enough to compensate for the loss in income. Our younger daughter is still the powerhouse down in Frankfurt. She makes three time what I do, and she is expecting her second child any day now. How she expects to juggle high-power job with daughter 1 (just turned 2 years old) and the new one, I don't know, but she has managed everything else, so I supposed she'll manage this. My wife is still running between here, her mom's place up north, and our daughter's place down south.

As for me, I am making a few jaunts to neighboring countries (Netherlands, Belgium, France so far), but France is a pain in the ass, as the half-hourly trains from Brussels to Paris have been reduced to one or two a day, and no hotels are open near where I work there. I also have pressing work in Switzerland and Spain, but flights down there are no longer several a day, but a few per week. What used to be routine has become a logistics nightmare, and our trip to the USA in July is STILL up in the air, as we don't know if my wife can come back without being quarantined for two weeks.
