6. How fast is the mail moving in your area?

If it is moving slow, voting by mail is a mistake this late in the cycle. I voted by mail in late September and my ballot was counted during the first week of October. I had planned to vote early in person, but the mailin ballot arrived so quickly after being sent to me that I did not want to wait more than 20 days to early vote in person.

Check with your county to see whether you can take your mailin ballot into the registrar’s office and turn it in there. Otherwise, if you want your vote surely counted on Election Day, then you will need to wear PPE and vote in person.

On edit. If you have not requested a mailin ballot yet, my feeling is that you have waited too long to vote by mail.
