Roger Ailes was the CEO of Fox News with that exact intent in mind, he and Murdoch knew exactly what they were doing. As I recall from reading the history of Ailes and Fox News, he gave the idea to Richard Nixon, he told him that people could be manipulated through TV, and he knew that lying on TV would not be held by anyone against them.

No, Ailes did not get swept by it, he and Murdoch were the double head of the snake, and he knew damn well what he was doing. The guy was a creep all around. He will be reunited with Weinstein when he dies and must be exchanging notes with Epstein in hell.
