3. A lot of stuff goes down on Friday afternoons.

In my case, it was computer systems ... they'd suffer the most maniacal maladies just as I was headed out the door. (Spare you the details)

But it's also news. There seems to be less coverage late Fridays and weekends, and time for people to forget (that's the goal) by the Monday news cycle. I *did* notice many bombshell kinds of things hitting on the near-weekend and weekends.

I stopped watching TV long ago, so my "news cycle" is basically DU. It's probably the best news aggregator for non-tech stuff around (I use Hacker News for tech stuff. Dang, about 200 new posts to (mostly) ignore every day.) (https://news.ycombinator.com)

With so many potential inputs, *I* get to decide what's worth pursuing, and I don't pay attention to the Debbie Downers except to "minister" to them.
