(17,045 posts)have been undermining the need or the right to vote for so long, that their static is background noise. The despots, or their henchmen have done a terrific job engendering ignorance and apathy. Why is the person apathetic? Hesitant to commit to voting? Not seeing their participaton is vital? How many times over the years have we heard that our vote doesn't matter? Not to mention threats of violence at the polling places, not to mention how early voting in any form is getting attacked, and may not count if there is a smudge of ink in the wrong place, and finally how inconvenient it is to vote on the day? Can't even get water in line.
