(53,061 posts)to eliminate "Saturday night specials". I declined because it was over reaching. It failed in a landslide and set back reasonable laws 10 years in that state.

Nothing was as harmful as Beto O'Rourke (who I love)yelled "Yes we are going to take your assault guns away".
We are not going to get rid of 400 million guns. Concentrating on reasonable goals like restricting purchase of assault weapons, 100% background checks, eliminate high volume clips.

The ship for significantly reducing the number of guns has sailed. We have more guns than people. It would be easier to eliminate the NFL. The only option is to restrict the extreme lethality of the guns that are available.
I have lived in countries that have no civilian gun ownership. In a few years I will pack up my bags and retire to a country that doesn't have 400 million guns and that will be one of the reasons but I know that owning a gun is as American as baseball.
