(10,729 posts)I say little to nothing about Garland, juries, etc. There's no point.
But I do see overt pushing for "happy talk only" regularly. Sometimes daily. And in any place that involves discussing different opinions on things, people kind of don't like being told there's something wrong if they aren't constantly sunny, optimistic, happy thoughts only about matters that invite cynicism due to extensive experience with the American justice system.
I mean, "You aren't showing the sufficient enthusiasm we expect of loyalists!" is a very, very creepy impulse that we've seen in places we generally don't want to emulate.
It's just plain weird. I keep wondering why the people who are always taking that tack don't see it for how strange and authoritarian it is. Self-appointed enforcers are usually exactly the people you don't want attempting to browbeat others into conformity. That's just history right there.
I think everyone here wants Trump prosecuted for any crimes he has committed.
People should be happy with that. Everything else can be ignored at will.
