Your question starts out with an unwarranted assumption - that a voter who agrees with the rep on one of these issues agrees also on the others. That isn't necessarily true.
There were NO policies presented in the poll. The questions were presented as "Which party would you say you agree with on each of the following policy areas?" Abortion policy, Gun policy, etc.
The poll covers a variety of policies... For instance, climate change policy. Most folks favor whatever it is they think the democratic policy on climate change is. So if voters are very concerned about climate change, they may vote dem regardless of what they think about economic policy.
Since you are concerned that Pew is manipulating the questions to achieve a pre-ordained result, you might want to actually look at the questions and the manner in which they were asked:

I'm not exactly sure what the reason is for all the brouhaha about this poll is. Just because it didn't come out the way you want or expect (and only on three of multiple indicators) doesn't mean it is fake or propaganda or an evil plot. I would like us to be a bit more realistic in our thinking and expectations.
