Assessing the current shutdown debate, we need to first establish and agree on some facts. The Republicans control the majority of the US House of Representatives. The extreme MAGA cult Republican Congressional members are powerless without Democrats creating the impasse. McCarthy will deal with anyone to save his Speakership. McCarthy's real enemies are Gaetz and Co. Democrats are not his enemies, they're his opposition. McCarthy has to decide to stick it up Gaetz and Co.'s ass and take the Trump abuse as a result.

Here's the proposed deal:

(1). The full House needs to vote on the Impeachment inquiry. I fully expect that vote to fail. McCarthy knew he didn't have the votes a few weeks ago. That's why McCarthy assigned the inquiry and circumvented a full House vote. The inquiry is probably even more likely to fail after that shit show of a first hearing. I believe this vote will fail.

(2). McCarthy puts the Senate bill that passed overwhelmingly on the House floor, for an up or down vote. Ukraine funding remains in that bill. I fully expect this bill to pass with 300 or more votes.

(3). Our end of the bargain is to have all, or nearly all, of the Democrats to abstain on the Speaker vote, if McCarthy faces a motion to vacate. All McCarthy will need to survive is to get a majority of his caucus. No Democrat needs to vote for McCarthy. I fully expect McCarthy to get the votes he needs from his own caucus.

The result will, most likely, will be an end to the Impeachment inquiry. A funding of the Government including the Ukraine funding. The added advantage is this deal will render the MAGA cult wing powerless and it will sow dissention within the Republican ranks; as well as really, really pissing off Adolf Trump.
