If only a picture of a rapist were as important as a WWII photo of a Sailor kissing a nurse [View all]

I still don't know how to post a picture, but apparently, there is controversy about a VJ-Day photo of a US Sailor kissing a nurse being displayed at some VA Facilities.

I am not sure how I feel about this photo. I have seen it before, and my mind never immediately went to "sexual assault" when I saw it.

However, from 2017 to 2019, I know exactly how I reacted to seeing a photo of an actual rapist EVERYDAY!

I am a Navy vet, and spent some post retirement time as a Civil Servant.

Do you know that EVERY military unit and government agency, from the USS CARL VINSON (CVN 70), to the Post Office in Beaver County, PA, is required/mandated to prominently display the official photos of the President and VP? In fact, it's one of the transition teams tasks to ensure that the new president and VP's official photos get to these far-flung places, so that on January 21, the Chain of Command board is updated.

For the two years I was doing Civil Service (17-19), I had to walk by that frickin rapists smiling mug EVERYDAY!

If only that would generate as much outrage and media coverage....
