8. Using the EPA's on-line carbon footprint calculator, vehicles are a biggey

I don't have a vehicle but did it with the assumption that I drove an average of 18,000 miles a year, which is the average for my sex and age group and getting 20 miles to the gallon. My carbon footprint was 50,948 lbs. of CO2 emissions per year. I did it again using 50 mpg on average, while still driving 18,000 a year, and that dropped my carbon footprint way down to 15,999 lbs. of CO2 emissions per year. A huge difference!

Kudos to you for taking such a step towards being carbon neutral!
