On this small Rez where I live and work Fenty and Meth are a huge problem

I always thought during COVID they had a chance to shut it down, there were roadblocks shut downs quarantines checkpoints you name it. But no

The problem is it’s endemic. Everyone knows someone on the shit. It’s in your family, your workplace, your neighborhood, your home. Everyone is co dependent People turn their heads all the time

The cops pull their cuzzy over and the last thing they want to do is piss off their Aunty. Aunties here are more important than your own mom, it’s a cultural thing.

So the Tribal police had a plan. Facebook is huge so they started posting about the non native dealers they pull over. They can’t arrest them because they have no authority over non natives. They are given a warrant for the state and let go. They do confiscate the stash, the money and the guns. But the dealers just come back

So they started postin their pics on Facebook, for awhile.BOLO, call us if you see these individuals on the Rez, don’t approach they could be armed, ertc
Then they stopped doing that. I asked the Police Chief who is my patient: what happened ?
He said: worst idea we ever had, now everyone knew who to get the poison from.

And yes I know of one former Tribal Council member personally who was on the shit and dealing.

Not saying Noem is right. But it is a thing beyond control
