I don't think it's 100%, but it's close.
I worked for Gannett for 10 years at a conservative paper. Every reporter I knew was liberal - along with most of the editors.
The editorial board and publisher were another story.
The liberals who were on the editorial board also tended to be the most zealous about maintaining independence - while they promoted liberal ideas in their columns, they weren't Democrats, didn't donate to candidates, and in at least one case, would not vote - as they felt it compromised the idea of an independent fourth estate.
