(281 posts)Thanks for posting! MANY, MANY of us "out here" feel this way. We've had to become suspicious of our family, friends, and neighbors out of distrust and fear. We're concerned that our political leanings will cause us to be not only criticized, but attacked. We fear the Maga-Madness that has invaded our society. We can't put pro-choice, pro-Biden, pro-LGBTQ flags, banners, stickers on our windows, on our cars, in our yards. without fearing right-wing retribution.
We watch our fellow Americans daily swallowing b.s. about the state of our country while simultaneous seeing things improve, gasoline prices going down or remaining stable, the economy generally picking up.
And worst of all, we endlessly witness far too many "good Americans," who like the "good Germans" of the 1940's, worshiping, revering, praising, and financing a felonious criminal who appears to be hell bent on destroying Democracy, by denigrating, and demeaning those who still believe in liberty and justice for all.
To borrow, and somewhat mangle, a quote: Is this the way the world ends; not with a bang but a whimper?"
