23. Not a new development. People were protesting him before 10/7.

And with good reason. He was dismantling their justice system in his favor, to stay in power because be was under criminal investigation.

The people are even angrier at him for not protecting them against the 10/7 attacks and for the slow response time.

But the people's dislike of Netanyahu does not mean that they oppose the IDF efforts to destroy Hamas' underground headquarters. Israelis want a ceasefire agreement to get the surviving hostages back. But they also want the ability for Hamas to carry out future attacks eliminated.

For Hamas, there is no such thing as a permanent peace. They will bargain now only in order to get a place at the table for the establishment of a Palestinian state and to stay in power. They have not given up (and never will) their goal of eliminating Israel and having the entire territory for themselves.
