John Goodenough, was the oldest Nobel Prize winner at 97
John Goodenough, who passed away on June 25, 2023, was an American materials scientist and Nobel laureate in chemistry. He made significant contributions to the field of energy storage by identifying and developing the lithium-ion battery.
Additionally, he established the Goodenough-Kanamori rules, which determine the sign of magnetic superexchange in materials. Goodenough also played a vital role in the development of computer random-access memory.
