He converted in 2019, to the sort of arch-conservative Roman Catholicism that other prominent Republicans are (Bannon, Alito, Thomas, Vought I think, many more).

It's useful to specify Roman Catholic, since there are many other Catholic and small-c catholic denominations. Some of those are gay-affirming, some allow priests to marry, some have women priests. Reclaiming the term calls them out as the liars they are.
