Has changed her tune.
We're not close but I've known her for about 25 years, our kids were in a sport together and our husbands briefly worked in the same office, we've lived in the same neighborhood forever. Once in awhile we catch up and tonight was one of those nights. Background- She describes herself as fiscally conservative, she's the go to church most Sundays type who will still enjoy a few glasses of wine now and then. We have never talked abortion so I don't know what she believes there, but I know she's something of a gun nut. She doesn't care about LGBTQ issues one way or the other. I'd say your run of the mill moderate republic type until now.
In 2016 she voted for Trump and I avoided talking to her for months in a very non-dramatic way because I couldn't bite my tongue. In 2020, after things had become tenuously peaceful between us again she admitted that she "held her nose" and voted for Biden because she was so sick of Trump "behaving like a toddler". Tonight? She asked if I saw the Philly rally today. When I admitted I had she asked in an excited hush-hush voice (husband I'm guessing) "Wasn't that amazing?' I said it sure was and without prompting she smiled and said "We're gonna have our first woman president!"
