And think this is a brilliant strategy.
BUT, I disagree vehemently with the author's take that the press no longer has a roll in presidential elections:
"Even if I agreed that candidates who want to be president should be regularly subjected to media scrutiny, I dont think this press corps, as it is currently organized, is able to."
Brilliant strategy currently, but if she keeps at it too long without confronting what may very well be a hostile press corp, then that is not good for democracy and may end up hurting her campaign when it really matters - close to when the voting happens.
