(3,648 posts)62. To make your point re male ignorance: Had a male gyn tell me, with a straight face & total conviction:
"I don't believe in PMS."
That's right, a male gyn told me HE doesn't believe in a condition most females know personally does exist, and therefore my 'issues' are all in my head. No, I did not choose this troglodyte, it was a hospital situation and I had no voice in who showed up. But in less than 3 minutes, I knew why he didn't have a private practice.
Wanted to kick him in the balls and let him know that 'It's all in your head. Balls don't have feelings!'
Best GYN I ever had was a FEMALE, board certified GYN & board certified endocrinologist. Let me tell ya all, THAT is the sort of physician a Peri-menopausal or menopausal woman really needs.

I'm with you. I'm so sick of the patriarchy and male selfishness and control on a societal scale.

Texas has made it clear that we can just go bleed to death. Livestock are too valuable to allow that.

My fortyish female OBGYN told me that at my age I don't need hormones. Never went back.

You're living proof that women are good for LOTS of things. Not just child-related.

For most of human history, average life expectancy was well under 40 years. Not a lot of time for grandparenting.

Amen, sister. I wrote 6 books as a postmenapausal woman. So, as they say, "How do you like those apples?"

Men don't get to tell women or girls what their purpose in life is at any stage. Women/girls can decide for themselves.
