(2,057 posts)Truly a unique person. I loved reading his posts, and I often would think whoops, he omitted a word that, had I been writing, I would have included. But then Id take another look and say to myself well, he did it again.
From time to time I wanted to reply to him with this, an altered version of one of my favorite lines in Amadeus. Now I wish I would have done so.
EMPEROR: Well, I mean, occasionally it seems to have
oh, how shall one say? (he pauses, at a loss, then turns to Count Orsini-Rosenberg, Director of the State Opera) How shall one say, Director?
ORSINI-ROSENBERG: (smugly ready to oblige) Too few words, Your Majesty?
THE EMPEROR: (thats it) Exactly. Very well put. Too few words.
THE MAGISTRATE: (bewildered) I don't understand. There are just as many words, Majesty, as are required. Neither more nor less.
He will be missed.
