I am feeling kind of proud of myself today. Belong to a FB Group that posts soup recipes. So someone asks why grocery prices are high. Some answer corporate greed. Then Magats start blaming President Biden's and V.P Harris' Green energy policies for driving up gas prices, and telling Democrats to go back and take a high-school economics course because we are ignorant about the economy.
So instead of posting an angry reply I told about how my college economics professor explained that Capitalism doesn't function properly without competition and the role of government should be as a referee to prevent larger corporations from lowering prices only long enough to drive smaller businesses into bankruptcy, then raise them very high, so it leaves people with no choice but to buy it from them, if they actually need something.
One of the Republican posters wrote back is that factual or just his conjecture? I replied if you understand economics then you must know economics is not an exact science and different economists have different theories. However, many point out that enforcement of anti-trust laws has been way down since the seventies and that it does affect the economy. You can believe as you wish. I then finished with I am just sharing what my Republican Economics Professor, who had his Doctorate in Economics told us. The Republican poster deleted his question. 🤣
