Which, I guess is much better!

The simple point is that under a popular vote regime, the concept of winning states is moot.

BTW: How much presidential campaigning goes on in Wyoming, the Dakotas, Montana?

Those are the small states and they are resoundingly ignored under the current regime.

But, just for an example, Pennsylvania gets a whole ton of attention--note where everyone's appearing recently. And, to my mind, fifth most populous is not precisely a small state.

What advantage do you see of the electoral college? A voice for the empty acres of Wyoming?
