(22,336 posts)Is that elementary schools are not as well suited for boys as girls anymore. That isn't due to feminism though. It's due to fewer men being in education, and the crazy importance placed on standardized testing these days. Boys mature a bit slower than girls and are more active than girls at their same age group, but teachers have to teach kids in a less fun way for all the kids, but particularly in a way that's harder for boys - more sitting still at a desk rather than doing hands-on work.
And after 6 years or so of having a harder time in elementary school, boys have a hard time catching up by college age.
I am 100% in favor of changing how schools work.
I don't know if there is a feminist position. I read more general news and very little specific feminist things.
