and when Porter was forced to resign (I think by Chief of Staff Kelly) Trump effusively wished him well, said he's going through a hard time¹ and said his denials need to be taken into account.

"He says he's innocent, and I think you have to remember that. He said very strongly yesterday that he's innocent, so you'll have to talk to him about that," the president said...

I mean, Porter said it very strongly so it must be true.

¹ Yet trump has nothing to say about the abused wife and ex wife. Strangling and face-punching have been reported to be in porter's arsenal of violence.
