47. The problem is not the message. The problem is "the message" is ignored or misrepresented.

I suggest that the disengaged voters who voted for Trump anyway or would have voted for Kamala but stayed home did not tune in to MSNBC, watch the evening news or read a newspaper. They got headlines from their phone and from the chyron of their local Sinclair station. They scrolled through a shit ton of disinformation on TikTok. They saw endless anti-trans ads during football games.

I think the anti-trans ads were devastating. Democrats were unwilling to respond on an equivalent scale because they didn't want to betray the trans community but they also didn't want to turn the election into a debate about trans rights- a debate they could win on principle but lose at the ballot box. This problem is not going to go away in the future.
