(6,234 posts)but I AM wondering where they all are, and why some of them are helping the other side... people like Fetterman, for example. Our "leaders" should be building coalitions, organizing these coalitions into demonstrations of some kind. I'm not a leader. I don't know what kinds of things can be done... but I do know the damned Republicans are GOOD at it. Are we going to all concede we can't do better than Repubs can?
I've given and donated to democratic politicians in the past. But I don't have money to throw away to leaders and others that are sitting in the background, trying not to be noticed so they don't get on trump's bad side. Musk is already coming for my SS. And, leaders or no, I will be screaming loud and proud when it comes down to that point.
How about a 66 million person march on the capitol? Not just divided among the different states, but all in one place. Are magas the only ones who can protest what they see as injustice? How about leaders calling for a strike day to show the elites just how much WE are responsible for making the economy work?
I'm not wanting to get into a pis*ing war here. I'm a true blue Democrat, made in the FDR template. I'm waiting for someone from a younger generation who has read about the Depression... about Hoover and his tariffs and FDR and his New Society... who is steeped in what it means to be a REAL Democrat to make himself (or herself) known. And, as much as I hate to say it... I don't think this country is ready now or in the near future for a man or woman of color, or for any female for that matter, to be president. The people in this country are way too bigoted for that. This last "election" should have solidified that in everyone's minds. Don't like it? Tell the leaders to do something about it!
