(193 posts)folks like Pete Buttigieg, Jasmine Crockett, AOC and Jamie Raskins starting to take the reigns and i love what they are doing. The people want leadership, and leadership is not silence. Leaders need to lead. That includes speaking truth to power, even when you don't control the levers of power. If anything, it is more important now for leadership to demonstrate to us and the world that we do not agree with this fascist regime. Were Republican leaders quiet when we controlled the House and Senate? Of course not. They found ways to use their messaging to shape/frame the debate by being active and present. Everywhere and anywhere - corporate media, social media, Sunday morning talk shows, town halls, etc and etc. Silence is interpreted as consent. Our leaders cannot be silent (or limit their voice to private conversations or emails asking for $).
