To all the Democrats who voted to censure Al Green

98. Not making a futile and politically suicidal vote is not defeatism. It's keeping your eye on the prize.

REP Green welcomed censure and wears it as a badge of honor. He knew his actions were contrary to the rules of the House and that he would be censured. It was political theater. Voting for the censure was a cost-free way to avoid political ads with a picture of a screaming REP Green shaking his cane at Trump with the caption "REP ????? voted to support this!"

The Democrats are positioned to retake the House in the midterms. The party holding the White House usually looses congressional seats in a midterm. With Trump tanking the economy, dismantling the government, threatening to annex Canada, and siding with Putin against Ukraine, the Democrats should end up with a decisive majority IF the Democrats can resist the temptation to form circular firing squads.

Trump is self-destructing. Just wait until we start seeing TV coverage of seniors be evicted from nursing homes because of cuts to Medicaid. By November, 2026, the voters will be ready for a change.

I support Democrats and will not attack one on DU for not committing political suicide.
