(1,495 posts)They capitulate too much. What exactly are they thinking they will achieve by trying to appease the other side? It's a cult, you're not going to convince them otherwise. I said this another post, I don't remember which one, but this isn't the Republican party of the early 2000s. I don't know why some of the Democratic congresspeople are not realizing that. Since 2008, when Obama first took office, the Republican Party has been pushing farther to the right. Something tells me that they are being bought by money. A lot of the people were sponsored by Wall Street. Many of their donors were corporate big business, and thus were not for the average person. To quote George Carlin, "It's one big club, and you ain't in it." That is why they were losing many voters because they had other interests going on. Many Democratic congresspeople don't understand that when you associate with big corporations, whether you are given money by or are a speaker of them, it is not a good look for them.
