Democrats in the House were working on a 30 day CR to negotiate a longer CR that didn't destroy our democracy.

The CR gives Musk free rein to gut what he wants and has the added benefit of being approved by Democrats.

There is a precedent being set now with this Cr that agencies and people can be gutted without having to go through Congress. Musk was given the power of the purse strings.
