Flat-out reject a lie. Flat-out refuse an illegal or immoral command. Ignore and deny illegitimate power. Make the criminals put forth the effort of dealing with your simple acknowledgment of reality.

No matter how crazy they are, they have backers who are less crazy and don't want the hassle. It adds up.
