(55,899 posts)But as to a solution, just as the psychology of these men is not complicated, neither is the method to deal with them.
IRL, the men I have encountered who fit this profile are among the easiest to influence.
The force influencing them now is carefully placed constant republiQan messaging. I'm sure an actual psychologist could have a field day constructing an effective message to use their own psychology to counter those messages and change their minds. And an actual PR firm would have no problem seeding that message into places where they meet and form their beliefs.
I have been saying the same thing for years now. We say, "but they have AM radio." They have had AM radio for at least 4 decades. It's high time we figure out a way around it. People hate when I say this, but it's simply the truth: our messaging sucks. And there's no excuse for that.
