(10,729 posts)If we're mentioning wealth, highlighting it in a story about someone challenging Pelosi is kind of hilarious when she herself is worth hundreds of millions through the stock market.
But my complaint is the term itself is kind of dumb. We don't call doctors healthcare millionaires. If we did, that would certainly place a certain image in people's minds. "Healthcare millionaire running for Congress" sounds a hell of a lot different than "Pediatrician enters primary." So software engineers being tech millionaires is just a bit of prejudicial dumb that I suspect is on purpose on the part of these writers.
If anyone else challenges Pelosi who is more moderate than this guy, I'd certainly be willing to give them a look. I just think it's time for the Old Guard to retire, and I will support anyone who's willing to help that along.
And it's not like a Republican is going to win in San Francisco no matter what goes on in the primary.
