In reply to the discussion: Can young Democrats really threaten Pelosi's old guard? [View all]intheflow
(29,641 posts)27. Honestly, this seems like dismissing Thomas Jefferson because he owned enslaved people.
Bose is complicated, and from our Western European stand point Nazi-sympathizer = evil fascist. And I'd support that in 98% of the applications. However, we're talking about someone from another culture at a time when India was trying to gain independence from England. To dismiss him out of hand strikes me as a little racist (though probably unconsciously).
Our world is complicated, humans are complicated, and history is messy. If someone wore a t-shirt with Thomas Jefferson's image, would you automatically assume the person was a MAGA-level racist? No, because Jefferson is a hero here in very much the same way Bose is in India. Both did bad things but they also brought independence to their respected countries.

I'm tired of that canard. Do you have actual proof that Defund the Police cost elections?

The rigged purity test. Those who pass have been anointed, crowned, chosen already. Hypocrisy.
