What I think is important here is the "quality" of his attempted distraction, and what he is attempting to distract the news cycle from covering. It could have to do with Musk leaving, or something else. But it was purposeful.

We know that his vocabulary is greatly reduced since 2016. That is one way to document his mental decline. Yet, his sociopathy remains consistent, hence the latest nonsense. Perhaps next he will claim that if one plays the Beatles' white album backwards, it proves Paul McCartney was replaced by Hunter Biden's laptop.
