Just a general thought I have everyday now
I wake up look to the headlines and ask this very simple question, “what is wrong with us?”
I’m not looking for an answer per se, it’s just a sigh of grief mantra now.
I feel as if I’m caught in a whirlwind of chaotic highs and lows.
Historically norms of general emotions have lost their purpose due to an ever growing list of sad and horrible things and events.
How does one keep up rationally?
I see children, young men and women at the protest yesterday and I think, “I’m here for their future. I have to keep trying”
I won’t live long enough to experience the new undefined horrors they will witness.
I look at my granddaughter; my heart breaks for her.
I keep it together for my beautiful wife. I keep it together to be that person, she can rely on.
But I keep asking myself, the fundamental question, the royal “we”…
