I attended the No Kings protest in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and there was a massive crowd of 4,000 people who showed up for that event, which had to be close to a record turnout for a political protest/demonstration. Lancaster city is blue but Lancaster County is still deep red and went big for Trump in 2016, 2020 and 2024.

The protest/rally was both energizing and inspiring to see this level of political engagement. This was grassroots democracy in action! The speakers at this event were awesome - several veterans who lambasted Trump for firing thousands of veterans who worked for the VA and other civil service jobs and for cutting their benefits. An LGBTQ minister who recently accepted a position at a UCC church in Lancaster also gave an inspiring speech as did a number of other speakers.

It has been reported that as many as 11 million patriotic Americans who love this country showed up nationwide yesterday to stand up for our democracy, while Trump's military parade was a big flop. This gives me new hope that the power of the people will prevail over the wave of evil that has swept over our country.
